We Learned About Clay Sculpture at the January CAA Member Meeting

Writer's picture: CAA BoardCAA Board

Updated: Feb 5

For the first time ever, CAA members got to work with clay at our Member Meeting in January, thanks to teaching member Lisa Lee. Lisa brought her own mixture of porcelain and paper-clay pulp to demonstrate how to make a freeform ceramic sculpture of a flower that can be used as an oil infuser after it's fired in a kiln. She also brought some of her own fanciful work-in-progress and finished sculptures for inspiration.

Lisa is a long-time teacher of ceramic sculpture at Red Ox Clay Studio in Concord. You can find more of her work on her website. A big thank you to Lisa for generously sharing your knowledge and supplies so we could learn new skills and have a fun afternoon.

Our next member meeting will be Tuesday, March 11th at 12:30 at the Concord Library meeting room. Abstract artist Pat Moseuk will demonstrate and teach an art project. We hope you can make it. Bring a current work of art to the meeting for our mini art show!
