Calls for Artists - not one, but two!

Our Call for Artists #1 is now open for A Concord View of the Delta - a CAA member exhibit that will hang at the Big Break Shoreline Visitor's Center from January through March. We encourage our artist members to show East Bay Regional Parks your view of the beautiful delta region through your art.

A message to those of you who might be new to showing your work...that first submission to an art show can be a huge (and maybe scary) step, but CAA is hoping to make that step easier for you. This is not a juried show, so let go of your worries about being judged! Showing your work in public is an affirmation of your creative effort. There is nothing quite as satisfying as see your painting or collage or photograph hanging in an art show for the first time.

Our show committee is eager to answer questions and give advice if you need it! Email us and either Patti, Catherine, or Pat C. will respond. In the meanwhile, take advantage of cooler weather to visit Big Break and enjoy the beauty of the Delta in the fall. Find inspiration, create art, and sign up to be in the show! Visit our Artist Calls page for more details and our online registration form.

Our Call for Artists #2 is for a CAA member exhibit at John Muir Aspen Health Center in Walnut Creek during January and February. This is your opportunity to create art that reflects the theme of wellness and well-being.

Although a hospital setting may seem like an unlikely place for an art show, CAA has participated in shows at this location for many years, with our last show in 2019. There is a constant flow of people walking down the long, broad hallway where our artwork will be installed. Paintings and photographs have been sold here in the past and their healthcare workers tell us how much they appreciate being able to view beautiful artwork during their busy days.

This show will be juried by both CAA and the John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center Auxiliary. We’ll be looking for art that celebrates the theme…whether in a realistic or abstract manner. For questions or advice, please email us and either John or another committee member will respond. Visit our Artist Calls page for more details and our online registration form.
